The Hungarian Oil & Gas Company Plc (MOL Rt.) was founded in 1991, and that alone represents a milestone in the history of the Hungarian petroleum industry. It is not only a company that embraces the entire Hungarian petroleum industry, but one that has grown into one of the largest multinational corporations in Central Europe. As the company grew it reached the limit when the IT infrestucture couldn’t be handled easily, so the top management of the company looked for a professional solution. Many sites, cross-border infrastructure, IT systems and applications patchwork was faced with the requirements of a transparent and long-term sustainable, resource-friendly, easy to maintain system.

CIB Bank

The founding predecessor of the present Central-European International Bank Ltd. was established in Budapest on November 9, 1979. CIB Bank and Inter-Europa Bank have joined their forces from 1st. January, 2008. With the merger, Hungary’s second largest bank started to operate. The fast growing, in size and also in efficiency, and the regulations of the financial authorities pushed the IT management in 2005 to develop transparent and simple processes in software asset management and use an efficient application to help them.

Szerencsejáték Zrt. – Hungarian Gambling Company

Hungary’s largest provider of gambling, the Szerencsejáték Zrt. has more than 50 percent market share. The company was established in 1991, it has a very wide range of IT equipment and applications. In 2005, the IPR carried out a complex inventory of assets and made them transparent. The company carried out an annual review and regular use of various SAM services, thus ensuring that it fits the standards and criteria for the reporting obligations according to software asset management.

Hungarian Financial Supervisory Authority (HFSA)

Merging IT organizations is a real challenge. The Hungarian Financial Supervisory Authority was created by merging 3 supervisory authorities in 1999. It merged their IT department succesfully, and the software asset management rationalization was an important part of it. The IPR-Insights helped developing SAM processes and then we apply our SAM-Insights system to the whole IT system of HFSA in 2005.
