Licensing Academy

IPR-WSH Licensing Academy is  a periodical, two-and-a-half-day training covering both theoretical and practical areas of Software Asset Management.

Licensing Academy topics:

  • Software Copyright
    The basics of copyright presents the legal background to copyright regulation and the software related provisions of the Copyright Act.
  • Software Licenses
    An in-depth look at software licenses, the obligatory elements of license agreements, as well as the typical and possible provisions of licenses, licensing models and the forms of software distribution.
  • Licensing of Specific Software Vendors
    Induction into the licensing models of large software vendors, the characteristics of their agreements and product licensing.
  • Basics of Software Asset Management
    An overview of what Software Asset Management contains, which processes of the company are involved, which procedures of the company need regulation, based on international standards and best practices.
  • The ISO/IEC 19770-1 Software Asset Management Standard
    This part of the academy deals with requirements of the ISO SAM standard, we explain the concept and procedures of the standard.
  • Software Asset Management Tool in Practice
    Introduction to a Software Asset Management system at work; how SAM’s provisions can be implemented in a real-world solution.

The training is recommended to SAM managers and open to everyone.
